Password Management In Timesheet 5.5

Help Contents

Journyx Timesheet, like many other applications, requires you to log in using your unique user ID and your own private password. For improved security, Timesheet also allows you to change your password, or the password of other users over whom you have manager or admin privileges. This section of the documentation covers both processes.

Resetting Your Own Password

Every user in Timesheet can reset their own password. Depending on the way your Timesheet Admin has configured your Timesheet installation, you may be required to change your password at regular intervals. In any case, passwords should be changed frequently to maintain the best security possible.

To change your own password, click the button, located Toolbar at the top of every screen in Timesheet. Timesheet will then display the Reset Password Screen, which provides you with the tools needed to change your password.

Enter your current password in the Current Password: field and then enter your new password in the New Password: field. Timesheet requires you to enter you new password a second time, to ensure that no mistakes have been made. Once you have completed this process, click the Button. Timesheet will refresh the Reset Password Screen and display a green text message confirming the password change.

Please Note: Your Timesheet Administrator may have configured your Timesheet installation to have certain password requirements. The requirements may include a specific minimum length for your password and/or a mix of letters and numbers in your password. If the new password you have entered does not meet these requirements, Timesheet will display a red text message informing you that your new password was not accepted. If this happens, click the button again and enter a new password that meets the requirements established by your Timesheet Administrator.

Finally, your organization's installation of Timesheet may be configured to remember a certain number of previously used passwords to prevent you from reusing a specific password. Please use a different password each time you change passwords to avoid receiving an error.

Password Management

However, if you are logged in as a Project Manager, you will see only those Users who are in the same groups as you are.

To change a user's password, select the user from the Select User: dropdown list and enter a new password for that user in the New Password: field. Timesheet requires you to reenter the new password a second time to endure that no errors were made. Once you have entered the new password twice, Button.
