The Preferences Screen allows Users to customize their personal Time/Mileage/Expense Entry environment. The majority of these fields can also be affected from the Global Preferences screen by the System Administrator.

The variables that can be affected from the Preferences screen are:

• Number of blank rows appearing on time entry screen
  This option lets you determine how many blank rows will be available on each entry screen
• Your name, as you want it to appear on the screen and in reports
  This option allows you to configure how your name will be displayed onscreen as well as in all reports performed in Timesheet.
• Default comment on time entry screen (if applicable)
  This option allows you to enter a default comment that will appear in all comments fields in Entry screens you access.
• Which time entry screen do you want to use?
  This option allows you to select which Time Entry Screen you would like to use. The available screens for this option are limited to only those Entry screens available to the Groups to which you belong.
• Which expense entry screen do you want to use?
  This option allows you to select which Expense Entry Screen you would like to use. The available screens for this option are limited to only those Entry screens available to the Groups to which you belong.
• Which mileage entry screen do you want to use?
  This option allows you to select which Mileage Entry Screen you would like to use. The available screens for this option are limited to only those Entry screens available to the Groups to which you belong.
• Should Disconnected Client automatically mail you at the beginning of your time period?
  This option, which only appears for Users who are also designated as "Disconnected Users" via the Disconnected User optional module, allows you to set Timesheet to send DC forms to you at the start of each time period. Users who are not also designated as "Disconnected Users" will not see this option.
• Which punch screen do you want to use?
  This option allows Users who are designated as "Punch Users" to set which of their available punch screens they would like to use for time entry. Users who are not designated as "Punch Users" are not affected by this setting.
• Which StartStop screen do you want to use?
  Timesheet can be configured to allow users to enter time via a start/stop interface, which is accessible via the Button. This option allows users to set which of their available start/stop screens they would like to use for time entry. Users who do not have access to start/stop screens are not affected by this setting.
• Warn when navigating away from an entry screen after changes have been made but not saved.
  This option allows you to enable or disable Timesheet's built-in warning message that appears when you attempt to navigate away from an Entry screen that has unsaved changes.
• # of days to trigger status window on by default
  This option determines the specific number of days displayed in any Time Entry Screen that will cause the Status Popup Window to display automatically. For more information on the Status Popup Window, please see the Time Entry section of the documentation.
• Which time report should the View Time Report button run?
  This option allows you to set which report should be run when the Button, which is located on Timesheet's time entry screens, is pressed.
• Which expense report should the View Expense Report button run?
  This option allows you to set which report should be run when the Button, which is located on Timesheet's expense entry screens, is pressed.
• Which expense/mileage report should the View Mileage Report button run?
  This option allows you to set which report should be run when the Button, which is located on Timesheet's mileage entry screens, is pressed.
• Number of new rows to display when using Manual In/Out Time Entry.
  This option, which only applies to users who are using the Professional In/Out Manual Time Entry Screen for their time entry needs, allows you to specify the number of new entry rows to be displayed on that screen.

When you have made your selections for this screen, click the Button. Timesheet will refresh the Preferences Screen and display a green text message confirming the changes you have requested.

Please Note: Administrators have ultimate control over the Entry screen choices for each User. Users, however, have ultimate control over the other preferences.
